The Mike "Sully" Sullivan Charity Poker Run was first being planned in early 2017, when unexpectedly one of our dear friends, Mike "Sully" Sullivan, of Old Lyme, passed away in a motorcycle accident. A deer ran out in front of him and Mike did not survive, devastating his family, friends, and everyone that knew him. At that point we knew we had to name the poker run in Mike's memory.
Likewise, our causes are also personal. Many of us organizing this event have sons, fathers, uncles, and grandfathers that are veterans. As such, the Disabled American Veterans Charity is near and dear to our hearts. Additionally, we have seen first-hand the wonderful work Make*A*Wish does, and would like to help them in any was possible as well.
100% of proceeds are given to DAV and Make*A*Wish.
The Mike "Sully" Sullivan Charity Poker Run was started in 2017 to benefit the Disabled American Veterans and the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
100% of proceeds go to DAV and Make*A*Wish to help them continue their great work.
It is our hope that we can continue to provide some relief to a disabled veteran with their struggles, and bring some hope and happiness to a sick child. With all of our volunteers and participants continued support the tradition of honoring these two most deserving charities will endure.
